The Sarai at Toria is located only half an hour’s drive from Khajuraho. It lies on the banks of the River Ken, less than 2 kilometres from the Madla entrance to the Panna Tiger Reserve. Khajuraho is connected to major cities by road, rail and air and we are only twenty minutes drive from Khajuraho station and airport.
Sarai on MapWe are situated just off the Jhansi-Satna National highway; this is a regular tourist route to and from other destinations such as Agra, Varanasi, Gwalior, Jhansi, Orchha and Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. If you cross the River Ken and Panna Tiger Reserve entrance when driving east, you have just passed us! We are on the north/west bank of the Ken River (on the Khajuraho side).
When driving from Varanasi or Bandhavgarh, after climbing down the ghats and crossing the river Ken, turn right at the white flags on the bend about a kilometre from the bridge. We are ahead on the left at the end of the mohua tree-lined avenue just after it turns towards the river.

Get DirectionsThere is a convenient over night train to Khajuraho from New Delhi (Nizamuddin station) that runs seven days a week (#12448 UP Sampark Kranti) Express) From Varanasi the Bundhelkhand Link Express #21108 operates three days a week via Allahabad to Khajuraho.
There is also a daily train between Udaipur and Khajuraho Express that connects through Ajmer, Jaipur, Agra, Gwalior and Jhansi.
The Mahamana Superfast Express (#22163) runs daily between Bhopal and Khajuraho via Vidisha and Lalitpur.
Jhansi is well connected by fast trains with all the major cities and is only 3–4 hours drive from us. Satna is another nearby well-connected station; Satna is about 90 kms (2 hours) from us.

Jet Airways runs daily flights throughout the season from Delhi to Khajuraho via Varanasi. Air India flies to Khajuraho three times a week via Agra and Varanasi.
For those coming from Mumbai and the South, it is worth checking flights to Jabalpur also. From there to us is a 4–5 hour drive.
